About Faculty of Science

Presently the Faculty consists of eight academic departments and two units namely, Department of Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, physics, Statistics & Computer Science, Zoology and Computer Unit and Science Education Unit. At present, 400 students are admitted annually student enrolment stands at about 1000 undergraduate and 200 postgraduate research students. There are 110 academic and 120 non Academic members of staff in the Faculty.

  • Brief Overview of the Project

    Human rights and reconciliation in a post conflict multicultural society is an academic and research partnership between the Postgraduate Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (PGIHS) and the University of Technology of Southeast Norway (USN-NO). The Project is funded by a grant from Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education (SIU) under the Norwegian Partnership Programme for Global Academic Cooperation (NORPART). The work of the Project which will be carried out in four main areas, namely, student mobility, teaching programme, staff exchanges and joint research commenced in February 2017 with two students from PGIHS joining the MA Programme in Human Rights at USN for one semester.
