The Project

Human rights and reconciliation in a post conflict multicultural society is a joint venture between the Postgraduate Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (PGIHS) and the University of Technology of Southeast Norway (USN-NO). The long-term goal of the Project is contributing to Sri Lanka’s march towards social equality in the post-conflict era though education promoting knowledge and understanding of social justice, human rights and cultural diversity The Project is funded for five years by a grant from the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education (SIU) under the Norwegian Partnership Programme for Global Academic Cooperation (NORPART). The work of the Project is planned under four distinct but closely related main areas, namely, student mobility, teaching programme, staff exchanges and joint research. Formal Project work commenced in February 2017 and is expected to end in early 2022.
